Some adventures:
Hanwell Hootie 2017
Building Tshukudus in Kanyarucina, near Goma, DRC
Beds, fridges, crates of beer, butchered animals, dowries and cheese: these strange pushbike-cum-handcarts are used across eastern DRC to transport everything.
Kinshasa: International Day of People with Disabilities
"Ndenge Tozali" roughly translates from Lingala to "the way we are". It's a phrase used defiantly by members of ACDF - the French acronym for Congolese Association "Standing Proud".
Masisi child soldiers
When playing, children copy what they know. These photographs are from Masisi in eastern DRC in November 2014. The area was recovering from violent clashes between militia and the national army in the region in 2013 and armed groups still operated nearby - this meant a high military presence with obvious effects on young minds.
Children patrolled and played from experience.
